At the beginning of my new life stage, after moving to Scotland and reuniting with my family, I faced a significant challenge: my complete lack of English language skills. I realized I needed to learn English to communicate and find employment. Initially, I attended English courses offered at a hotel, but they were beyond my level, making it difficult for me to understand. One day, my support worker informed me about the Stirling School of English. My family and I enrolled in a summer course, and it was an incredible experience. The lessons were tailored to different levels of understanding, with opportunities to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, explore local attractions, and engage in various activities. This experience helped me overcome my fear of speaking and start expressing myself, even with limited vocabulary.

After the summer course, we began attending regular English classes three times a week and even joined evening groups whenever possible. Thanks to the well-designed textbooks and outstanding teachers, I made significant progress. The program at the school is so accessible and engaging that learning becomes enjoyable and straightforward. This foundation greatly supported me during my training in PAT testing and woodwork repair. Recently, I secured temporary employment with a training component. I am now a certified Level 2 Bicycle Mechanic. The two-week training course in Glasgow was challenging, but thanks to the English classes, I was able to understand, communicate, and even pass my exam despite my limited English proficiency. Currently, I work at FEL, and I am immensely grateful for their trust in hiring me despite my low level of English.

I am especially thankful to the English school and, in particular, Ilona Hunter. I look forward to returning to the school soon. I am determined to continue my education. After the New Year, I hope to return to evening classes while adapting to my new work schedule. The English language school is not just about learning; it is a welcoming community where you can study, socialize, and immerse yourself in Scottish culture through various events and celebrations. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn English. The organizers have created a supportive environment with flexible options, including morning, evening, and online classes. Only those unwilling to learn would fail to find an opportunity here.
