As part of this year’s Volunteers’ Week celebrations, volunteers, trustees, board members, and staff came together to recognise the invaluable contribution of our volunteers and celebrate another successful year at Stirling School of English SCIO.
The day began with a volunteer meeting, providing an opportunity to reflect on the many achievements of the 2025–26 academic year. Volunteers shared their experiences, discussed successes, and explored possible changes and developments for the year ahead. We were also delighted to welcome representatives from Mhor Collective, who gave an informative presentation on how they can support our community through digital skills training and development opportunities.
This was followed by the School’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Chairman David Howes presented a positive and encouraging report, highlighting the organisation’s achievements and continued growth over the past year. Treasurer William Watson then delivered his report, confirming the School’s strong financial position. Members voted to re-elect the trustees and board members en masse, and the audited accounts were formally accepted.
After the formal proceedings, everyone enjoyed a well-earned lunch of baked potatoes with a variety of delicious fillings. The afternoon continued with the presentation of Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE) Certificates of Appreciation, recognising the dedication, commitment, and hard work of our volunteers throughout the year.
