St Andrews Ceilidh Brings International Community Together in Stirling

30 November 2025
St Andrews Ceilidh

On 27 November, the Albert Halls in Stirling came alive with music, laughter, and tradition as 72 people from a wide mix of countries gathered to celebrate a lively St Andrews ceilidh.

The evening opened with a brief and engaging history of St Andrew, setting the scene for a celebration rooted in Scottish heritage. Guests then enjoyed hearty servings of traditional stovies, generously prepared by M. More Butcher’s of Cambusbarron— a warm and authentic taste of Scotland.

The highlight of the night came with ceilidh dancing expertly taught by Margaret and Hugh McCann, whose enthusiasm and guidance helped dancers of all abilities take to the floor with confidence. Between dances, attendees enjoyed fun games, listened to Scottish songs performed by Pete Needham, and were treated to special dance performances from Margaret’s friends.

The event concluded in true Scottish fashion, with everyone joining hands to sing “Auld Lang Syne,” creating a memorable finale and a strong sense of togetherness.

A huge thank-you goes out to all the volunteers whose hard work and generosity made this wonderful event possible. Their efforts ensured an evening full of joy, culture, and community spirit.
